We must face the facts and acknowledge the severe gaps in our federal, state and city education systems. Decisions made around educational policies consistently reinforce a lack of value in and understanding of supports students and schools deserve. Educators are under-valued and over-worked and often lack the time and resources to fully address every student’s needs.
We created BTEC as an attempt to address these gaps in education. All students deserve individualized attention and programming based on their unique needs. We also recognize gaps in other tutoring and enrichment programs, often comprised of a one-size-fits-all mentality which mirrors the difficulties we face in schools. We strive to break free from these constraints and work intentionally to create an opportunity to foster both teacher and student voice and personally tailor every experience to meet our clients' (/schools') unique needs.
